Maple Lake Academy saved my life and our family. The team at MLA is the best of the best with the most caring staff and most amazing therapists and clinical team. As a person who has been through the program I can honestly say it was the best decision my parents ever made for me and our family.

Maple Lake treats its students as individuals, not as diagnoses. We were respected for who we were and who we could become, rather than who we had been before.

Before we came to MLA, our son struggled to stay at school for more than a few hours a day. Through the care and clear expectations of the MLA team he grew in confidence and competence and completed high school a year ahead of schedule!

My experiences at Maple Lake Academy have changed the direction of my family. The staff and the school provided a loving, homey and safe environment for my student. In this atmosphere my daughter learned the skills on how to understand and cope with her autism disorder. I feel the environment provided at Maple Lake Academy was crucial in allowing my student to grow into the independent young woman she is today.

Maple Lake has helped me manage my emotions and cope with my depression. The time spent away from my parents helped foster better communication with them as well. With my therapist and my parents, we navigated our issues and worked towards better understanding each other. Thank you Maple Lake!

MLA’s real strengths lie in the competency of the therapists and the strong, effective leadership of its director. Our son shifted from disengaged and depressed into a young man who is engaged with life, others, and his own personal growth.

For me, [Maple Lake Academy] was a safe space for the magic to happen within me... I have these beautiful experiences and moments with my friends at MLA that I will never forget. I will always cherish the time I spent there, because it made everything I am living today possible.

Maple Lake helped me become more confident in setting and holding boundaries and allowed me to see first hand how important it is to maintain healthy relationships.

The dedicated, professional, and helpful staff took the time to learn how to best lead our daughter and our family to the right tools to get the job done. These invaluable "tools for a lifetime" produced the much needed transformation for our daughter, giving her a voice and the confidence to make healthy decisions on her own.

Despite being at a special school in our hometown for children with learning issues, our son was doing badly and getting steadily more depressed. Maple Lake was a big game changer for our son.

We are so proud of the young man our son has become and there is no way this happens without Maple Lake. It’s a tremendous program run by people who get our kids, love our kids, and work tirelessly to help them maximize the potential that we all know they have.

Brandon and TajeeParents (2016-2017)

Maple Lake Academy was without a doubt the right place at the right time for my family... Our therapist was a god send who worked with our entire family to help us move to being able to understand how our daughter "works. The house staff and rec staff are amazing at keeping all the pieces moving in communication with families. The teachers get the kids and meet them where they are at. We owe MLA a lot and are now seeing the benefit of the time spent there.

Maple lake has changed my life and my family’s life for the best. With a loving support group and staff they taught me how to manage my emotions in a healthy way, and learn that my diagnosis does not define who I am. Maple lake has helped me find my full potential.

Student Alumni2016-2017

Maple Lake saved our teen, and it saved our family. Maple Lake’s exceptionally skilled care team surrounded him (and us) with love and care. They helped him learn the skills and confidence he needed to cope with life’s challenges, make friends, and be a loving member of our family. Maple Lake has given him the skills and the confidence to keep making progress.

We were fortunate to find Maple Lake Academy. it was life changing for our son and our family. As a parent, it is beyond difficult to entrust your child’s care and heart with anyone other than yourself. The journey provided us growth, maturity and the realization success is attainable for each of us. It’s work, and it’s not always easy. I do promise you it is worth it. MLA is just different, they do better, they do more.
